PRESIDENT - TERRY MORATO

Terry has been involved in Table Tennis for 40 years having started playing at the age of 21 and from there being involved as a club President of Lower Burdekin and more recently President of the Townsville Table Tennis Association. He has also been a member of the TTQ board for a number of years. Terry has throughout those years held a Level One Coaching Certificate and a State Umpire Badge as well as being a player. Terry continues to be a keen player having competed in Asian Veterans Competitions, New Zealand Veterans and World Veterans competitions along with many State Open and Closed Tournaments over many years. Terry has almost 40 Years of management experience being involved with community organisations, Commercial Business groups as well as managing a large agricultural businesses. As President Terry believes TTQ needs to be fostering and adding value to its member clubs by assisting them in any way using TTQ resources. Also to continue with the strong development program for juniors and to find ways to bring sponsorships on board to allow for better support of our Representative and emerging Players both male and female.


VICE PRESIDENT - JANICE KENT

A farmer’s wife, an Insurance Broker, a mum, Grandma (and more recently a Great Grandma), Janice’s involvement in New Zealand included playing at a local club one day a week, in Hawkes Bay and participating in a limited number of competitions since 1998. Since arriving in Australia in 2014 Janice’s enjoyment and involvement in Table Tennis has been continually evolving. Initially becoming a member of the Mackay Table Tennis Club has seen her grow from Club member to Club President (for the last three years) and engage with the changes within both the Membership and the Community as a whole. The commitment of those involved at all levels, from Club through to State and National Level is amazing and Janice is pleased to be able to take the next step to join the TTQ Board and be part of the driving force to assist in the growth of the sport in Queensland. Being selected and to represent Queensland at the Australian Veterans Championships over three years has been a major highlight along with the social aspect of this sport. Janice is looking forward to completing her State Umpire’s certification and to then complete a Level 1 Coaching Accreditation when there is time, to pass on the passion to younger members of the sport coming through.


TREASURER - VIVIENNE HALOCHA

Vivienne is a retired School Business Manager and has a Masters in Practising Accounting, a Batchelor in Information Management and was a CPA for 20 years. Vivienne has been a club table tennis player for over 35 yearrs, and has represented VIC at Junior, Youth, Senior & Veterans level. Vivienne moved to QLD in 2022, and has had the opportunity to visit many QLD clubs in her travels as a player. Vivienne has represented QLD at Veterans level and have also represented TTA at the NZ Veterans, and played at the 2018 Las Vegas World Veterans. In the last 2 yrs (2023/24), Vivienne has been coaching at Moreton Bay and offers multiple sessions at the club per week as a Level 1 qualified coach. Vivienne is honoured  to serve on the TTQ Board and is keen to develop the profile and participation of Table Tennis in QLD.


SECRETARY - LUKAS KOZAK

Lukas has been involved in table tennis for over 15 years and is very active in the aspects of playing and management side of the game. Lukas has played for his club at many State Championships at Junior and Senior level, winning numerous State Titles. He has also represented QLD at several National Championships in all age categories. Lukas has completed a Bachelor degree in Business Management, Majoring in Sport, Tourism and Hospitality and is currently the Centre Manager of the Gold Coast Association. His administration experience in the sport is vastly growing in terms of organisation of events, undertaking roles as Tournament Director and Competition Manager at several State, National and International Championships. Lukas has over 12 years of committee experience at his local club, being Secretary since 2009. Previously on the TTQ board for two years, Lukas is looking forward to once again help grow the profile of the sport in all areas of the game.


NORTHERN BOARD MEMBER - VENKAT VANGAVETI

Venkat Vangaveti has been playing table tennis last 20 years. Hailing from India, Venkat has been a member of University team during his graduate days. He now represents Townsville and Queensland in the Over 30’s team winning the Over 30’s team gold at Australian Veteran championships 2017. Venkat is a Senior Research officer at James Cook University, involved in undertaking and supporting medical research at the Tropics. He is also currently a board member of Townsville Table Tennis Association, His interests include coaching and mentoring juniors at the club and he is keen to help improve table tennis grow in the North Queensland region.


NORTHERN BOARD MEMBER - JASON HOCKINGS

Jason Hockings first got into table tennis in Rockhampton at the age of 10 and has been actively involved in the sport ever since. As a junior, Jason regularly competed in open tournaments and represented Rockhampton at the Queensland Junior Championships on six occasions. In 2009, Jason moved to Brisbane for university, completed his Level 1 Coaching Accreditation and began coaching at the Brisbane Table Tennis Association. Since moving back to Rockhampton, Jason has completed his Level 2 Coaching Accreditation and has regularly mentored junior players at club, state and national level events. Prior to joining the TTQ board, Jason has spent a number of years on the Rockhampton Table Tennis Association management committee. In addition to this, Jason has also been a member of the Rockhampton Tennis Association tournament and fixture committee for the past two years. Jason is passionate about fostering improvement in the attraction, development and retention of junior players within the sport, and about marketing the sport to the wider community to increase participation throughout the state.


SOUTHERN BOARD MEMBER - VANESSA PAULSEN

Vanessa has been involved with Table Tennis for 20 years. She first started playing socially in Rockhampton where her first of 7 children also started their table tennis careers. Moving to Bundaberg in 2013 saw her family’s passion and strength in Table Tennis grow, which helped make their decision to move to the State’s Capital where they found themselves settling into the Wynnum Table Tennis Association. Vanessa’s love of Table Tennis has grown along with her children’s, as she now watches and supports them at Club, State and National levels. Vanessa was appointed the President of the Wynnum Table Tennis Association in December 2018 and continues to further her experience in the sport by becoming a Southern Board Member for TTQ in 2019. Vanessa is excited about being part of growing Table Tennis in Queensland along with her passion in building female awareness and participation.


SOUTHERN BOARD MEMBER - GREG WILLIAMS

Greg lives in Maleny and has been a member at the Sunshine Coast Club since 2017. Greg is involved with a number of community organisations including Maleny District Sport and Recreation Club, Rotary Club of Maleny and numerous others in a voluntary capacity.

Greg has a vision of increasing participation rates in social and competition table tennis across all ages, genders and abilities within QLD, and improving the number of un-affiliated groups playing table tennis across QLD having an affiliation with TTQ.
