Event Information - State Final
Match Format & Rules
- All singles and doubles matches are 3 games played to 11 points (winning margin of 1 point only)
- All teams will play 2 singles matches and 1 doubles match (3 games per match)
- The winning team in each match must win by a margin of 2-1 or 3-0
Exception: Under-12 Female Division to play 2 singles matches, followed by 1 doubles match, followed by 2 reverse singles matches (3 games per match to 11 points)
Order of Play
- Teams play 2 singles matches followed by 1 doubles match (using the above match rules)
- For teams of 2 players, both players must play a doubles and singles match in each round (teams of 3 must select which players to play or rest each round for singles or doubles)
Playing Uniform
We ask that all players are wearing their school/sports uniform for the school they are representing at the event.
Arrival / Start Time / Finish Time
The centre will be open from 8.00am and available for practice/warm-up for anyone arriving early.
Teams must be registered by no later than 8.45am at the centre. We expect to commence all matches from 9.00am and complete all matches by or before 2.30pm, including medal presentations, but this is subject to matches being completed on time. Players should NOT leave the centre during the event, as matches are played continuously, and no lunch break is provided as most teams will have bye rounds to rest etc.
Food & Drink
Please ensure the students bring a packed lunch and drink bottle as there is no on-site canteen available. There is a water bubbler inside the centre to re-fill water bottles. There are a number of food outlets a short distance away on Newmarket Rd approx. 2 minutes driving time or 550m walk.
Parking
Please note, there is limited off-street parking available underneath the club via 86 Green Terrace. We encourage players and supporters to car-pool where possible to reduce the number of vehicles parking at the venue. Please be aware there is a height restriction so any vehicles exceeding normal vehicle height should park at the open-air carpark next door at Downey Park (this fills up quickly in the morning) or seek street parking (be aware, council patrols this area so please take note of any parking restrictions).
Event Partners
We are also very pleased to confirm JOOLA Australia as an event partner for the QLD Schools Championship again this year. Thanks to this partnership, there will be prizes on offer for all regional rounds and the state final valued at $1,500. We sincerely appreciate the support of junior table tennis in QLD by JOOLA Australia and George Logothetis.
